Tile Abrasion Testing Machine

Ref. Standard – IS:1237, IS:1706. The tile sample is pressed under a specified load against a grinding path, strewn evenly with abrasive powder, revolving at a rate of 30 ± 1 rpm. After 100 revolutions of the disc, the second parallel side of the tile is subjected to wear for an equal number of revolutions. The wear of the tile is measured using a thickness measuring device (supplied at extra cost).

The Abrasion Testing Machine consists of a replaceable grinding path fitted on a disc rotating about its vertical axis. The rotating disc and grinding path are enclosed within a circular tray. A bracket is provided to hold the specimen, and loading is applied through a counterbalanced lever. A funnel is included to facilitate charging the grinding path with abrasive powder.

The unit is supplied complete with an automatic preset revolution counter and one 7.5 kg weight, but without abrasive powder and thickness measuring device. Suitable for operation on 415V, 50Hz, 3-phase AC supply.
